NURS 653L Clinical Nurse Leader - Clinical Practicum I
This course focuses on the interdisciplinary role of the clinical nurse leader with a target population in a selected health care setting. This practicum provides opportunities for beginning development of competencies in nursing leadership, care environment management and clinical outcomes management, through faculty-supervised clinical experiences with a preceptor in the student's area of clinical interest. Students will explore the role of the CNL through the analysis and synthesis of information from all prior coursework and apply it to the delivery of organized, safe, efficient, outcomes-oriented nursing care. Students work with a clinical preceptor to develop, implement and evaluate objectives specific to the clinical patient care and leadership in their area of emphasis.
