PHAR 944 Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This course will introduce students to methods to perform systematic reviews and meta-analysis. The course will cover the basic principles, analytical framework, and process of systematic review and meta-analysis, including how to interpret the results of a meta-analysis and understand heterogeneity and bias in meta-analysis. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to formulate an answerable research question, find the evidence using a secondary resource such as PubMed, appraise the evidence for quality, and finally extract the relevant information needed to perform a systematic review and/or meta-analysis which can be published in a scientific journal.
