PHAR 600A Longitudinal Skills Lab I
Longitudinal Skills Lab I is the first in a series of six practicums in the pharmacy program designed to provide students with the opportunity to practice essential skills and use knowledge learned in didactic courses to build and develop these skills in a sequential and integrated way. Longitudinal Skills Lab I will provide a hands-on introduction to non-sterile compounding with an emphasis on extemporaneous preparation of solid, semi-solid, and liquid dosage forms. Pharmaceutical calculations will be practiced, and students will start to develop patient consultation skills pertaining to prescription and over the counter therapeutics; the Longitudinal Skills Lab will also introduce students to immunization techniques and vital signs assessment.
