Calculating the Cumulative Grade Point Average

The CGPA is calculated by dividing the total quality points (grade points earned multiplied by course credits) earned by the total semester credits for courses completed at West Coast University.  Please refer to the West Coast University Grading Scale for courses that are not included in the CGPA calculation.

Grade Rounding

At West Coast Unviersity, scores are not rounded to the whole number until the end of the term.  All student assignments, quizzes, and examinations will be rounded to the first decimal piont.  At the end of the terms final course grades will be rounded to the nearest whole point.

Examples are provided below:

Individual Assignment Grades

81 = 81
76.579 = 76.5
92.445 = 92.4

End of Term Grade

83.2 = 83
89.7 = 90
75.4 = 75

Please see the Grade Rounding Addendum for additional information, effective November 2013.
